whats a good exhaust to run on an ae92?
hey Club 4age i have a 89 corolla GTS and i just wanna know your opinions on what exhaust to run ?

Depends on what you expect from it. Do you want performance low duown in the revs? Do you want the engine to breathe better in peak rpms? Or do you just want a nice showpiece for under the hood?

I would get a decent shop to make you a custom one, I have 2.75" catless and it made decent power gains. In the cat area there is space for a resonator so i have one put in there and it really isn't that loud below half throttle. I believe the header will be your biggest bottle neck. 2.5" should probably be the same gains as 2.75" also tbh.
On my blacktop i smoothed out the header casting imperfections with a dremel, you would be surprised at all the weird bumps and ridges in there. On 2 of the "holes" there were big ridges almost halfway around the pipe that were almost 3mm high. I don't know how much of a part that played but it's free to do so you may as well do it.
edit i see this is an old post did you ever put in a new exhaust?
