20v - 16v exhaust manifolds

Could someone say for sure if a 20v manifold will bolt up to a 16v 4AGZE head please ?

Found a tubular one for a 20v black top that looks good for welding a turbo flange too.

Also thoughts on this would be great please, not as pleasing on the eye but it's a simple solution !

To use the 20V manifold on the 16V you need to modify the
two outer fixing holes by drilling/slotting. This pic shows the
difference in bolt centres...


The cast iron copy of a copy of a clone of the original HKS
manifold should bolt right up to any 16V head. This manifold
is cheap enough and does a job... I'm told it is good for 200hp,
maybe a bit more, even though it is not the most elegant or
best flowing design. I looked at one a while back when I was
considering a mild turbo build and concluded that it would be
suitable for a first excursion into turbo fun

But if you are looking for big power, or the ability to up the
ante at a later date, you would be better off shelling out for
something more like this...

The obvious flaw in the HKS design was that they mounted the turbo close to the firewall to clear the P/S pump but then required a crap downpipe. You can see it in this picture:

The Kelway manifold from AJPS is a proven manifold with a nice turbo position and it's also strong.
Here's a picture of one fitted with a Garrett T25G in my car with a CX Racing 3" V band adaptor and 3" downpipe to where the cat would be.

Jdm86gtz what power did you end up with ? And a tip towards injectors would be great, I'm looking towards 250-300 FWHP

Ah you don't want a top mount turbo so for fwd use.
You can get the Kelway in a bottom mount also or most of the other common manifolds available are bottom mount.
Haven't dyno'd mine probably around 200hp at the crank.

lol yeah so i really wanna know if it would be okay to use, I would get a kelway, but I cant wait a month to get it

Low mount rwd manifold. Long runner, long merge collector, equal length runners.
Runners enter collector in firing order. mild steel sch40 construction
t2* turbo flange. big gt series turbo will fit in ae86 etc, so no space drama's
fitting any t2 flanged turbo. 2 bolt waste gate flange 16v head flange
heat shield for cas NZ$500 firm

In New Zealand though... shipping might be a bit expensive

Ended up buying the cxracing t3 top mount manifold+downpipe to go with my gt2560r especially cuz the memorial day 15% off made it more appealing. Going to add on that t2-t3 adapter to attach my turbo, which should also push it up a little higher to avoid the distributor and any other piping issues. I guess ill be one of the few to give reviews on it, one guy in the past said that it was good, just needed to retouch up with a few TIG welds (Ill prolly look it over and if need be will have it fixed up, and have it powdercoated as well) aint gonna be running big boost anyways. Just need something to fit with dizzy and usdm brake booster unlike that HKS cast iron, plus like above I heard the flow characteristics are not that great with that cast iron hks style. PDB, thats a great buy, nice header style, with a holset, heard holsets spool hella fast too, you lucked out. Damn Johndee, if only that was in US!! Although everything shipped to hawaii sucks... I liked this post it was a good read, thanks to everyone that contributed!
