help. 20v injection on a 16v

Postby ian.stewart » Fri Jun 17, 2016 10:38 am

I am running a RWD 4age 16v on 40 Dellorto's, Im thinking of upgrading to fuel injection, I was offered a set of 20v ITBs, not quite sure yet, Obviously a ECU would be needed, the question I cant find the answer to is..... will the 20 injection bolt straight on, I have asked 2 people will it bolt on?, one says nope, one says yes, whats the real answer?

No! It requires an adapter to go to the 20v manifold or to the ITBs. Check out T3 (Techno Toy Tuning) they have an adapter available. The electronics will be a bit pricey, best to just opt for the stand alone. You could get by with a JDM MAP set-up with a good piggy back unit, like the Greddy e-manage. I was doing this same thing. Had a harness adapted. Bought all the sensors and then abandoned the project. I'd offer the harness, but it's done for an AW11.
One shot, one kill.

If you have the complete 20V manifold with injectors and throttles, you can use this
style of adapter plate. I'm not sure if anyone is making them commercially ?

If you only have the throttles, then you can use this style of adapter available from
T3 and other suppliers.

Depends a bit on whether or not the injector holes in the head have been welded
up. If they haven't, then you will need to find some 16V injectors and a fuel rail as
well as the ECU and sensors.
