16V Doing My Head In!!

Postby AidoKsev » Tue Apr 09, 2013 6:48 am

G'day forum folk!

The problem... I have just wired in a 16V Bigport into a friends KE70 from scratch [Standard ECU] (not the first nor last time I'm sure...) and I have come up with this problem of having no fuel delivered via the injectors upon trying to start/run. I remove the dizzy and spin it I can hear Injectors and it has spark. If I bridge (tap) the Cold Start Injector to power I can make the engine run on that, and if I bridge an injector in the rail it will run on that specific cylinder. I am yet to check how strong the Injector Pulse is, but I would think hearing the cycle should be enough to squirt some fuel. (Has bulk fuel pressure, Spark Plugs not wet) Perhaps it is the Cold Start Timer playing with the ECU? All sensor voltages read correctly at the ECU I will add. Anyone think of any other sensor that is crucial for a 'run' state?

And as far as I can tell, the cold start timer is just triggered via a +12v signal, so theoretically tapping the Black wire from the timer (what I assume is the trigger) to +12v should trigger the timer providing it runs through the Cold Start Injector to Ground? If this is the case the Injector doesn't activate so I'm assuming there is a Timer fault, Although I never ran one and didn't have any problem...

Also if I heat up the temp sensor to trick the ECU it still has the shits sooo...

Injector ground, it's on the intake manifold, a bunch of brown wires. Make sure it's grounded well.

Injectors ground through the ECU, like I've said it is completely re-wired so none of the standard earths are there. It has a magnificent Injector Pulse and sprays fuel when the rail is unbolted. I'll check Fuel pressure again soon but this seems to be the problem. Also what is the correct injector wiring, cant decide whether no10 is 1&3 and no20 is 2&4, or no10 is 3&4 and no20 is 1&2 as different wiring diagrams specify different pinouts.

Thanks,

I will tell you once more... check the grounds. I know for a fact that the injectors ground at the intake manifold. I practically have the wiring diagrams memorized from when I was chasing down issues with my SR5 to GTS swap.
