Hello all, quick question if you don't mind: I'm measuring the valve shims in my blacktop with Dial Indicator, but there is a slight difference of course between dead center of the shim (where there is a little hole) and the sides. I assume you would measure the sides, is that right? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again
Matt
Measuring Blacktop Valve Shims
Re: Measuring Blacktop Valve Shims
Nevermind common sense prevails haha, but does anyone know where the part numbers for all the blacktop shims can be found?

should be on toydiy.
I should be getting a bunch of shims soon and once I do will be setting up a shim bank.

I also thought i'd should measure the sides but that isnt true. You have tot measure the thickness of the inside with a special device.
Check my 4AGE 20V BT teardown, rebuild and transplantation over here --> http://club4ag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3382

Are you just ordering them from the dealer? I'm going to need shims very soon as the engine is about to be back from the machine shop.
