T3 crank pulley for 20V question
I've got a T3 single row crank pulley for my 20V Silvertop. Can anyone tell me why there are two timing marks cut into it?

Re: T3 crank pulley for 20V question
I believe the outer most one is for use on a 4agze, while the standard one is the 4age.
haha cali...i got one of your 86's and you're not getting it back.

Re: T3 crank pulley for 20V question
I think Morgan is close but I think it's more application specific.
For example the AW11 uses a timing pointer coming off the timing belt tensioner bolt which sits at approx 10 o clock. The timing pointer points to a mark in between the two stock pulleys which would be the outer face here Other motors like the 20vs use numbers printed on the timing cover with TDC being closer to 2 o clock. On these motors the timing mark is on the innermost face of the pulley.

Exactly, thats what the second pic shows. The difference between setting timing between an AE and an AW chassis, and their respective notch locations on the pulley

Yup, you are both correct. I have now verified that number 1 cylinder is at TDC when the innermost timing mark is exactly at zero degrees. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

Hey, how is that working out for you? I always wanted a pulley but afraid it will throw off the balance and mess it all up.

Re: T3 crank pulley for 20V question
I never actually ran the engine with the factory pulley so I can't compare the two. I personally won't run a crank pulley that isn't lightweight since I haven't experienced any problems with it. There was a company though that was selling balanced lightweight crank pulleys for the 20V, but I can't remember who they were. I'm pretty sure I bookmarked it though so I'll look through my links and see if I can find them.
I could just be unaware of my stuff being out of balance though, I've got an aftermarket flywheel as well and I recall someone on here saying those things are rarely balanced. I figure that would be a bigger concern since those are so much heavier than a crank pulley. But I'm a sucker for weight reduction, especially on anything that rotates.

Can't find that link for the 20V balanced lightweight pulley that I was thinking of. I think it was pass racing or paradise racing that was selling it. I found out that a lot of my old bookmarks go no where now. I saw that pulley like 3 years ago so maybe it doesn't exist anymore.

Dang there's some nice stuff on that website. The pulley I was thinking of looked different than that one but that one looks higher quality. Quite the price tag as well.
Re: T3 crank pulley for 20V question
Yeah... I've seen theirs and its nice... but thought of T3 (price), was just concern about the balancing.

Here's an interesting link about lightweight crank pulleys versus the factory crank pulley on a 4age.
