BT 20V swat complete but weak?

Postby webyosan » Fri Jul 11, 2014 2:29 am

It is my first time and I want to know if this how a BT 20V 4age drives like:

It's done and there's no codes, all parts replaced with either OEM or AISIN...Everything is pretty much new, timing is correct, and adjusted ITB to spec. Took it for more spin and it drives fine on normal daily or freeway, but when WOT it doesn't go anywhere..Just loud ITBs and doesn't pick up until past 4k rpm...It is like a flat spot between 2-3k rpm. ECU is good and all voltages/ohms to each sensors are withing spec, no bogs, no backfires...

Stacks could kill torque a lot, depending also on the lenght of the stacks.

have u done any minor tune up? spark plugs? wires? and also wut kind of fuel pump are u using? wut gas are u using? u can start trouble shooting and check off variables off the list. worst comes to worst, the motor u got is tired.

Compression test? Leak down?

Everything asked so far is good advise. I'd pay attention to the VVT solenoid.

That should be a good length for torque!

I'd also say measure the resistance of the oil control valve and do a complete checkup of the distributor cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, etc. Plug wires should have no more then 25Ohm (from my head). But if you use google and search for the 4age blacktop manual you'll find some links to the manual. ;)
