I am trying piece together the parts needed for my next engine build. I plan on the engine revving to 9-9,500rpm. From what I hear the stock oil pump starts to have problems above 8,000rpm. I know there are a few different dry sumps systems out there but they are costly. I thought the Accu-Sump might be a viable option. I also noticed that Toda makes a "heavy Duty Oil Pump Gear Set" but this does not increase capacity. I would like to hear what you guys are doing with your higher revving 4AGE's ( mine is currently a big port 16v w/ae92 small port bottom end).

Our convo on FB the other night reminded me about Toga oil pumps. They are high volume so I have not gone out of my way to look into them because very few motors will need increased volume oil pumps. They do claim to have upgraded internals though and to be able to take higher RPM. They don't really specify on that though. On the bright side they are much cheaper than the Toda gear.
I shot them an email yesterday to see how fast you could spin their pumps and to get a little more info and see if I could set up a wholesale account.
I will let you know if I get any info on them.

I just did some searching and found a surprising number of failure threads and then a number of other threads saying upon internal inspection the gears are the exact same dimensions as the stock pump meaning they would not be high volume and probably aren't upgraded gears.

I will email Toda and see what their thought are on high volume. Since their gear is designed for high reving motors I would be sure they would make it high volume if they felt it was better or necessary.

besides the cost... a dry sump offers you an advantage the wet sump just can't match..... the ability to run a bit looser bearing tolerances. A bit more important when running those rpm levels... This is because the dry sump system can supply significantly more volume.

If the above isn't enough to not want to consider Toga, I emailed them asking how fast you could spin their pumps and this was their entire response.

We asked Toda the same question about their upgrade gears and this was their response.

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in TODA Racing products.

The TODA Oil Pump Gears are made from billet material and will be ok for 9500rpm use.

The volume is the same, but the material is upgraded. Factory oil pump gears are made from sintered steel, while the TODA oil pump gear is from much stronger billet chromo-moly steel.
