Does anyone have an online source for the factory service manual for the silver top? I''ve found the black top manual but I don't know how similar the specs are between the two engines.

never seen a silvertop manual.... what specs are you worried about??

Main, rod bearing measurements, cam journals, valve lash.

I have a manual here but it's in Japanese but with the pictures you can work out what's what:
Main bearing clearance 0.015-0.045mm maximum 0.08mm
Big end bearing clearance 0.021-0.051mm maximum 0.08mm
Crankshaft end float 0.02-0.22mm maximum 0.3mm
Con rod end float 0.15-0.25 maximum left blank??
Camshaft bearing clearance 0.035-0.072 maximum 0.1mm
Valve lash Inlet 0.19-0.29mm exhaust 0.39-0.49mm although the engine sticker under my bonnet says inlet 0.24mm and exhaust 0.44mm
