Re: 20v pain in the neck
WTF are you talking about? With that much information given or really lack of any at all how the heck do you expect us to tell you anything useful?
Deff post a pic. Describe what happened. Tell us what plugs you are using.
If you put as much effort into your build as you did your post it's a wonder it runs at all.

Experimenting with spark plugs on an engine that sounds like it is not mapped correctly ?

Re: 20v pain in the neck
What do you mean chewed up and spit out?
You mean fouled? I still don't have enough information to offer anything useful.
What does your wideband say?

Re: 20v pain in the neck
Yes I mean fouled.. put them in 3 days ago, took them out this morning all of them badly fouled.. how is that possible after 3 days?

Need a wideband.
Sounds like a bad tune but without numbers we are all just guessing.

Re: 20v pain in the neck
How do you have a motor with engine management and all this fancy stuff and not even know what a wideband is?

Sorry about being a dick but you have two options here.
1. learn about what is in your car and how to make it work.
2. pay someone else to do it.

Re: 20v pain in the neck
I deleted your newest thread. Making more threads is not going to help anyone. Keep your information consolidated and provide the most information you can in a single place. This will get you the most useful help possible.
If you want to post your post from the other thread in this one go ahead but it won't change the facts.
Your car is not running right.
You could try to wing it 1950s style and try to tune it without proper monitoring equipment and hope you get it close enough to not mess up plugs. Or you can do it right, get a wideband and learn how to tune it and or fix it properly.
The other option is to continue to pay others to do it for you. The major downside to this aside from cost is that if you find yourself in the mountains on a sunday night and your car starts acting up there will be no one nearby who can fix it.

Something like this...
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/MTS.php
There are a number of companies offering similar systems. The wideband O2 system
(WBO2) measures the residual oxygen in the exhaust and calculates the Air Fuel Ratio
(AFR). This tells you is the engine is running rich (AFR lower than 14.7) or lean (AFR
higher than 14.7). You can then see if the car runs rich only at startup, or if it runs
rich at all speeds and temperatures.
This is the basic information needed to tune a car with an aftermarket ECU. Using
the information gained from the WBO2 the fuel map in the ECU can be adjusted to
bring the AFR to where is should be according to load and rpm. Having the ability to
log (record) the output readings of the WBO2 during (say) a third gear pull from 50
to 120kph makes tuning a lot easier.
You really need to find a tuner and figure out where you go from here. Shooting in
the dark is not the best way to figure out why your engine is running so rich. If you
can find a competent tuner, he should be able to very quickly check if you have a bad
O2 sensor (factory narrowband), bad water temperature sensor, or if there really is
something wrong with your ECU.
Cheers... jondee86

Re: 20v pain in the neck
Thnx for all the comments and help guys. Decided to sell the car, don't have the resources or knowledge to maintain the car. I'm new to 20v, this was my first.. maybe in future will purchase straight from factory.

Or maybe just one that has been modified less.
Sad to see you give up on the project but if you aren't willing to put the time into learning about what's been done to it and what it will take to own a car that is modified to that point it may be the right choice.
Re: 20v pain in the neck
Yup I recommend you stick to something as close to factory as possible. Buying a setup you don't understand will only frustrate you, I see this happen way to often.
