4AGZE on engine stand

Postby Toyota8 » Sun Mar 13, 2016 4:56 pm

Might be a stupid question, but I want to put my 4AGZE on an engine stand. Do you use the transmission bolts?

Depending on the type of stand, transmission bolts probably won't be long enough.
I had to buy some longer bolts and some heavy steel washers. Get the same thread
as the trans bolts... M12 x 1.25 (metric fine). I bought them 100mm long measured
from under the head, but 95mm would have been OK... needed to use quite a few
washers :). That was to suit a standard China made stand... you will need to check
how long the bolts need to be for your stand.

USDM bumper bolts work great. I shim with a stack of washers to fit my stand.

If you have trailing arm bolts (the sizes that bolt to the axle) those are perfect length....

I had a set of spacers and bolts made for mine so I can put it on the stand with the flywheel on and still turn it.
Couldn't find the right things off the shelf.

Cylinder head bolts work like a charm too. Maybe a few spaces and viola.
