I am building a Locost 7, and I need to source a smaller alternator than the OEM one from the donor car, an AE86. I would like to find one that will bolt right in with the proper 5 rib pulley already attached.

Disclaimer, I have not used these alternators, these alternators are just from my notes and would need further investigation.
In all probability you are going have to make new mounting brackets to align correctly.
I think the only direct fit alternator is from the early 4A motors [which I'm using]. They have lower amp rating and slightly lighter, but phyiscally the same size as the stock AE86.
I would look at these possible options.

Nissan Bosch 65 amp P/N 231005F600,0 123110 007 K11

Nippon Denso 40 amp P/N 196300 [tractor spares company] notes: say needs new pulley to work

Denso 40 amp P/N A073, fitted to a Daihatsu

Don't know where you are located, but if in the USA/Canada, you can use the alternator off a 1.0L GEO Metro (US) or a 1.0L Pontiac Firefly (Canada) with NO A/C. This is a small Nippondenso alternator about 50A in output and has comparible sockets for most Denso alternators from Toyotas.

It does have a 3-rib poly-vee pulley rather than your 5-rib, but you can swap the pulleys.

This is the alternator of choice for the 4AGE (16 and 20V) conversions into the Lotus Europas as done by John Pels.
