GZE/GE Fuel Pump Issues

Hi all,

My motor is back in my engine after it's rebuild.

I have had it cranking and running by spraying carb cleaner into the intake, but i have no power to my fuel pump or oddly the oil pressure switch.

The fuel gauge is working, but this didn't before and I lost my dash lights, but they are now back.

The engine is 4AGZE, if my AFM flap is stuck in a closed position would this permantly keep the fuel pump from powering up? Is there anything I can test to see if it is the AFM?

The car is not in my garage any more it is at my engine builders' and neither of us are electrically minded, so could advice be stupid proof please :)

Many Thanks,
Alex

This is how the AFM closes the contacts in the COR to keep the FP running...

You need to make sure that the AFM ground wire actually has a connection to
ground. Either via the COR ground wire or direct to a chassis ground. If the COR
does not click when you turn the key to the CRANK position, then check that you
have 12V to the COR from the STA pin (or from the starter solenoid circuit).

The COR in the boot, I cannot remember if I have the bracket it slots onto, actually bolted to the chassis. Does that act as the ground?

If the AW11 COR is similar to the COR used in other Toyota cars from the same
time, the metal bracket does not make a ground for the realy. All the electrical
connections are made thru the pins in the base of the relay.

Go for the easy fix first
Check for good grounds
