So im working on an engine swap into a non toyata car. Im gonna be using a GTS 4AGE with a T50, but im using an early tail shaft and shifter to move the shifter closer to the engine. I all ready have everything put together, but i have some slop in the shifter. i have narrowed it down to the ball of the shifter rod. I had bought the entire T50 from a 1975 Corolla, just to get the linkage and tailshaft. The box was roached though, so my question... is there sopposed to be a bushing where i got the arrows pointing?
Heres the box assembled
Early T50 shifter questions
Re: Early T50 shifter questions
here is the link to this gear box from http://www.toyodiy.com and it does not look like there is a bushing there. there looks to be a shifter return ball and a spring that may be worn outho. there is also a shifter return spring that could be worn out too. there is also a return spring seat that could be plastic and gone. if you cant see the pic create an account on toyodiy and log in and then you will see the pic.
