Water pump woes

Postby Alex170984 » Mon Aug 19, 2013 2:50 am

I went to fire up my aw11 for the first time since its all back together, so was putting on the necessary belts etc

I've found that my water pump pulley is well out compared to my crank and alternator pulley.

I have although got the ae92 7rib low comp piston block - I'm guessing the pumps are completely different to that of an AE86?

Help would be much appreciated

Best regards,

Alex

"well out" meaning it doesn't line up with your crank and alternator pulley? If so, you probably just installed the pulley backwards.

=] not =[

The fwd water pump pulley is more offset than the rwd one. If this is a new build, you probably have the wrong one.

the pumps can be different too as there are a couple different pulley bolt-hub sizes

Took me 8 weeks and 6 trips to Advance Auto to educate them on these facts and get the right water pump lol.

I've been sent a rwd pump from the supplier I bought it from.

Unfortunately on the website the pump for the AE86 is the same for the AW11 - AW11 has a FWD pump.

I've just rebuilt my engine - I'm not totally retarded to put my pulley on the other way around - I've seen it before you know!!

I just picked up Aisin and have started adding parts to my site.
Can anyone confirm this is the right Aisin Part no for the RWD?
