20v silvertop CEL questions

Postby 1991celi » Mon Sep 09, 2013 12:25 pm

Ive been trying to get my car to run right for the last month withoiut a working CEL. cant figure it out so I need to get this CEL wroking. The CEL does not turn on at all. it is the only light on the dash that doesn't turn on. But When i look at the connector on the ECU it doesnt even look like W is wired?
- Ive taken a continuity tester and grounded it and unplugged the 12 pin so i can get to the pin i needed to and shorted it there. no light. i did have te1 and e1 shorted.
do i need to leave the 12 pin in?
the grounds should be good. have the ecu grounded near the thermostat. i have a ground going to the tranny and one on the head.
I checked all of the fuses.

Here is what the ECU looks like. its in upside down so the 12 pin is on the left. is the W wire supposed to go in on the top just left of b+? if its missing how do i go about jumping it with the plug in? i cannot reach the pin as the plug itself is in the way.
Please let me know if more info is needed.

if i'm not mistaken, the W wire is the ground for the CEL light. so what i do is hook my test light to the positive side of the battery and touch the test light to the w wire. should light up just fine.

Sorry, thought I already replied. no it didnt. i might not need to use diagnostic though. i figured out what was wrong with the engine. i bought a used AFM here from someone and they sent me the wrong one. the one the person sent was for the aw11 mr-2. so i talked with a guy and ordered the one i need off ebay
