Need help 4age camcover "pressure outlet"

Postby hubble308 » Thu Oct 10, 2013 5:27 pm

What kind of air filter/breather are people using on their intake camcover? I have an oil catch can but it keeps getting water in it. What kind of filter should I use to keep water out and oil in, either on the catch can or skip the catch can and put it on the cover?

Water is a normal product of combustion and having a catch can is perfect for cooling your engines blowby & condensing the water out of it. A cool exhaust system does the same thing until hot enough to make it escape as steam.
The filters you've seen are just vents for looks & keeping bugs from crawling in.

i dont recommend the filter on the valve cover. oil mist will get on everything. plus it stinks in the car with the windows down. I have done the catch can, catch can with filter, catch can ran back to intake mani. finally settled on the stock location. It is alot cleaner looking and keeps oil off the outside of the engine, most of all doesnt smell likeshit inside the car.
