Rota Shakotans with 205/50's (Price lowered) drama included!

Postby sprockmember » Fri Jul 11, 2014 4:33 pm

I have a barely used set of Rota Shakotans for sale. They're 15x9, 0 offset, 4x114.3 of course. They have almost brand new Falken Zeix 912's on them (205/50-15). I bought this set-up a couple years ago as a street wheel for my s30 and ae86, but with the corolla in surgery for the last year and a half... and the z barely driven, these are in very, very good shape. Get this mounted, balanced, ready to go tire and wheel set-up shipped to your door (of you're in the lower 48) as soon as I get $675.

I don't get on here all that often, so the best way to reach me is via email at nels_jensen at hotmail dot com. Or txt/call me at 4oh6-six72-oh33six. Thanks. -Nels

Just so you folks are aware, the seller of the wheels want's you to pay for his Paypal fees on top of his full asking price. I don't want anyone thinking that a simple payment in full will get them these wheels, when in fact the seller will happily refund your money when you decline to pay the extra fees.

His response to me was that If I didn't want to pay the fees, he would gladly accept a full payment via gifting the money. When I declined to gift a complete stranger $675, he promptly refunded the $675 that I sent him the normal way, refusing to send the wheels until I ponied up the extra cash. This whole thing rubbed me the wrong way, I kinda got the feeling that he wash fishing for me to gift him the money, so that way he could walk away with it. This all happened after he asked me to wait for his new Paypal account to be verified. Just a heads up to you guys.

Be careful once you send as a gift no money back. I got scam $1450 last month here.

Holy balls Daniel, you missed out on some of the conversation, but are clearly trying to make it look as if I'm out to steal your money.

Yes, I did have to verify a new account because mine, and my wife's car were broken into... and she had some financial information that shouldn't have been in her car. Have to play it safe.

In one of my initial texts with BluSky I let him know that he could add the paypal fee or "gift" me the money as there isn't any fee with gifting, he said he was not comfortable with the gift and would be sending the money the regular way. Which he did... only without the fee. Perhaps I should have been more clear with my initial text about the fee, but I assumed that when I mentioned to be sure and add the 3% or gift the money, he knew what was up. I get $675, you get the wheels.

I did refund the money immediately.

What I find funny is that your last text was, "Let me know if you change your mind, I'll still buy them".

Rubbed you the wrong way, eh? Enough to bash my classified post, just not enough to walk away from cheap wheels? Weird.

So... because if I was looking to buy some wheels, and saw this post (and the comments left by BluSkyLightning), I would steer clear of these, simply because it makes me, the OP, seem pretty shady, I think I need to make things more transparent. I feel as though BluSky is trying to sabotage the sale thread a bit with his "warning", as it seem to paint me in a certain light. So... just to clear things up a bit, I'm posting the entire texting interaction between BluSky and I. I hope this brings some credibility to me as a seller.

So, there you go... I did let him know twice that the fees would be necessary BEFORE he sent payment, and it's not as if I was just looking for a gift, or even suggested the gift after the initial payment as BluSky's post makes it seem. I hope this clears the air for anyone interested in the wheels that would potentially be spooked by BluSky's post.

Why do people make buying goods difficult?

*If you ***really*** wanted 675 from the deal*, you can use a paypal calculator: http://thefeecalculator.com/

Put in 675, and it states that you need 695 selling price to make it happen.
Just post your wheels for 695, done deal! You get your asking price, no other drama necessary!
Simple. None of the above would even happen~

If you want $675.00, you should ask for: $695.47
PayPal takes $20.47. Those sharks!
