To Rub or Not to Rub

Hey everyone,

I've been doing research and see a few discrepancies regarding offset and rubbing. I have a stock 86 GT-S with fender lining. I do not plan to remove nor do i plan to roll my fenders. I have approx 1 inch drop on Bilstein monotubes coupled with Tanabe springs. I'm thinking of going with 14x6 -4 offset wheels with 195/60 standard size tires (same as what's currently on my snowflakes).

I've heard people stating 14x7 0-offset will rub with liners on bumps and hard turns. I've also read 14x6.5 0-offset will not rub or have any issues. Hence, I'm led to believe that a 14x6 -4 offset will also not cause any problems under any circumstances just based on simple math.

Has anyone with stock fenders and lining used a 14x6.5 0-offset or even 14.x7 0-offset with any issues?

I have 15x8 -0 offsets with 205/50 all around. and I have very minimal rub. but in the front I have -2 degrees of camber and they do rub the inside of the fenderwell a bit if you're making a hard u-turn at full lock. only time I rub in the rear is when I'm going down this steep hill the levels out very fast it looks like a children's slide almost and I rub when I go down it without braking at all. lol. I don't think you'll have any problems at all with that thin of a rim and tire set up.

I rock 15x7.5/-8 offset all around on 195/50/15 tires.
Same issue like Essenpai's on the front.
Same issue like Essenpai's on the rear.
None of my fenders are rolled.
Serves me just fine.

Hey fellas, I appreciate all the feedback!! As I was reading my initial post, I wanted to elaborate by lining I meant the fender trim - not the wheel well lining itself, as I know that that also has an effect on allowable offsets.

195/60/14 tires are taller than than 195/50/15 by 13 mm, and even 205/50/15 by 3 mm.

tire size is going to play a big part on your rubbing too...
