Yeah, pretty wide open idea, huh? The time has finally come...in the next few months (say, between now and about October 2016), I am going to finally be in a position to buy an 86.
I've been watching Craigslist since December and I feel like the market across California has dried up worse than our reservoirs last summer. Frankly, I am open to any model or style. SR5, GTS, hatch, coupe...doesn't matter, really. What does matter to me is that it's in running, driving, stopping condition and can pass smog in California. Why some folk are on CL trying to sell cars with blacktop motors in CA is beyond me...anyway!
Figured it was time to put out the WTB call. If you've got something or might in the next few months, let's talk. highway_153@yahoo.com
Thanks!
WTB - 84 to 87 Corolla Hatch or Coupe (SR5 or GTS)

Re: WTB - 84 to 87 Corolla Hatch or Coupe (SR5 or GTS)
Oh, sorry! Thought I included that. Budget is likely to be about six grand.

I've got the perfect car for you, unfortunately I'm one of those guys selling a blacktop swapped car in CA lol

LOL! I'm sure it's an awesome car, too. Are there really no mods that can be done to bring those into compliance? I guess it'd have to be a CARB-approved mod, huh?

Yeah they think a dohc fuel injected engine doesn't run as clean as the sohc carb'd 4AC lol
Mine has a CA legal cat on it and will pass the sniffer if you have a smog guy that will skip the visual.

Well, I'd say I think I know someone who would, but when asked, he suggested sticking to a 4AG or 4AC. Not sure if he was just playing safe as a business owner or just what.
But it's silly, I agree. California is silly. But in other news, I did find a red GTS coupe in Milpitas the other day and left a note on it. Fingers crossed!
