do you know if yours is the snap in type, or the bolt in type?

Snap in type can only be found on 1992 and earlier trucks
bolt in can be found in Celica Supras, Later than 1992 trucks, mk3 supras etc.

Bolt in can be sourced from '80 up 2WD trucks and Celicas/Supras and Coronas. Really easy to source. Stay away from the turbo Supra, that's an 'R' series trans, may not be compatible. Can't say what year the 4X4s started with the 'W' series trans, should be '81 though. If you are interested in a reduced throw shifter Marlin Crawler can get one done for you. I have one in my '81 PU and it's great! Reduces the throw by about 50%. Mine was sourced from an '83 Celica. The shifter body has a thicker insulation and is a bit shorter than a PUs shifter. If you want a longer lever the 4X4 is the way to go.
One shot, one kill.
