I talked to the carlot guy and told him that I had seen the 86 advertised online at his lot, he said (in japanese) "Yeah, It's been raining, so I keep it at home, because the roof leaks", I say "The roof leaks?! how bad is the rust??", he says "Door jambs are almost non existant, rocker panels have many holes, sunroof has holes, frame is rusted", So I ask "Why are you asking so much for this crappy car??", he said the parts were worth money, to which I replied "I got three sitting at home in better shape than yours, would you like to buy mine for 5k?" hahaha. All his car had was a crapped out GZE motor and a FRP hood, dude was crazy. Looked at another one that I was told had no rust except for the trunk lid, I looked at it and it was rusted to crap, and I pointed out all of the rust and asked the guy "How much are you asking for it?" he said "$5500". It's not an InitialD tax anymore, it's because these cars are getting harder and harder to find. Now they are more of a collectors item over here. Back in the day you would see them on the road set up for drag, drift, or gymkhana, runnin low and sounding throaty. But now you see these little hipster lookin dudes driving them on stock suspension cruising around. I've owned 16 AE86 and never paid over 2k each, for the first 15. I just bought one for 4k, and it still needs work. But half of the fun of owning these old ladies is putting work into them. InitialD is dead and shouldn't be brought up ever again

right, ive had 5 myself, and never paid over $1500 for any of them, except my first.....and thats because i was dumb.

20v blacktop zenki coupe $3800
stock 85 gts coupe $1200
85 gts coupe stock $1400
gt-sr5 converted 84 hatch $1300
stock 87 gts coupe $900

all running, driven home rust free, except for the gt-sr5 car, it needed a little work in the engine bay.

Unfortunately, I had a feeling that the release of Initial D: Fifth Stage would be a main offender...It was bound to happen.

What they list for, and what they sell for are two entirely separate things. Are they selling for their listed prices? Maybe its time to sell if they are!
