get an ae86 gts. coupe or hatch doesn't matter (i'd prefer a coupe). 11.0 to 1 compression with nasty cams (i haven't dug too far into this yet), itbs, stand alone (the current car is sponsored so this shouldn't be an issue for me), dry sump, 200hp would be great. it must retain a 16v head and a 1.6l block. i realize there will be tons of things to do as well.
17x9 front and 17x10 rear, that will make my race weight at 1675 or 1700 lbs (i have to double check).
i'm going to lower chassis and raise the arches to keep the cg low (and not look like a 4x4).
hopefully, i can manage to keep the a/c and heating system. and have 2 seats.
i'm undecided if i want to use a cage or not. i suppose it will all depend on the weight i wind up at. a few well placed bars would do the trick but i much prefer a cage since i actually do touge runs.
anything to add? discuss? keep in mind this will be my new race car as well as a weekend/touge toy

look up the SS works ae86. it came to a little over 1700 pounds and a lot of stuff was done to lose weight.
Re: the plan after i sell the celica
pretty cool but not allowed to do that in the class. i do have some fun tricks to do.

Any reason for 17s? Jw seems like it would be heavier.

I question the wheel size as well. 17's are one thing if its your preference for the street, but for racing on tracks and in circuits, I would think 15's would more suit your needs as far as performance and weight are concerned. I run 16x9 and 16x10 Panasport C8-R multipiece wheels which I love for street, but if it was a track car, I would not like how the 16s feel when it comes to handling and grip.
