Thats awesome. He being excited means until he turns 16, he will be dreaming and fantasizing about "his" car. He had dad can work on maintaining the car and bond in that manner. And once its his, he will treat her right.
I talked about keeping mine for my son who is only 6 months old, but since it doesnt have air bags or any other safety features (aside from a roll cage) it didnt pass the mommy approval process lol. I just brought it up to use it as an excuse to keep it for 15 years

@ Sidekick Chuck.....
Dude I know what you mean. She told me the same. But I told her that he can just drive it to school (which is 2 miles away) and we can buy another car for him when the time comes....

Bucket seats, bash bars, full cage, fia approved harnesses and a fire extinguisher won't do the trick? Haha

That's awesome! It's been a dream of mine as well that if (When) I have a son, he'll get the bloody panda when he turns 16 as well. Years of sculpting the kid to respect the car and work on it would build up to that birthday.
Definitely keep that drawing for that time too, so he can hang it up in the car if he's brave enough to show off his old artwork!
As for the mom's saying no to other sons, my response would be "ok, when he turns 18 then". She can't stop him from having it then!
