Hello everyone. i have an '84 SR5 coupe.
dont get me wrong, i LOVE my car, but i think its common for us AE86 owners to crave more power.
now obviously my first issue with that is that its and SR5, not GTS lol.
and my SECOND and most crucial issue is that its AUTO lol

Is there ANY WAY to mod this carbed 4AC motor w out ruining it?

Mine is an SR5.
With the swap.

weber 32/36 carb

save for DOHC engine swap (with fuel system of choice)

there are other things that can be done to a 4AC for more power (good place for it here, http://4ac-powered.forumotion.com/)
But I would rather just get the weber, enjoy the car, and eihter look for a GTS or swap your SR5 for something better

BTW, How much do automatic sr5's go for? LOL, Just curious, i found one in sacramento with 140k miles, salvage title due to a minor bump on the passenger door...

It would be cool to see a 4AC turbo build pulled off well.

A guy i knew when club4ac was around that had a turbo 4ac it was cool

this was my turbo 4ac never finshed it tho the hot side was done but i was 16 then and no money to finsh it lol

i also had a 79 corolla with a 2tc it was a fun car

I actually just found out about how tough those are, kinda curious about running one actually especially considering that with a dizzy relocation they dont require cutting.

Sorry I'm drunk. I went from a 4AC in mg SR6 to side drafts JB a 7AGE twin cam. No messjn with differnt computers or wire harnessed just MSD stuff and is had more powweers

hmm...well it all depends on what the person making the offer.ive had offers from 2k to 38hundred and for some reason, i turned them down lol. I wouldnt let my car go for any less than 23 hundred. And im only saying that cause the engine and tranny are still good and interior/exterior is still all stock and in great condition

heh heh...He did say AUTOMATIC and good luck finding a GT-S with that. In '85 the Japanese had no autos except clunkers and slushpumps that would suck up too many hp from such small engines. They've gotten much better at automatics now.

Now, if you get a '69 GTO with a 400/4bbl and 3-speed Turbohydramatic...that can still burn rubber in at least two gears.

Or you can buy something twenty years newer, with twice the hp, and that's enough to keep most automatics happy.

But a 30 year old riceburner with a slushpump? "You must be this tall to ride this ride". Ain't gonna make it.

haha yeah, im not looking into spending the money to swap to a GTS, ill keep the 4-ac lol. If anything, i just want it to be and nice, clean, sunday driver

the real question you should be asking yourself is how much power do you want? also, how much do you want to spend?

wait, doe the op want to keep it automatic? I wouldn't bother then. If anything convert the car to a manual, put a weber on the 4AC, and enjoy the car.
