So I've never had any track time or gone drifting before, but I've been thinking about doin so once
the good ol' TE is up n running. However, I got an open diff and I've been thinking about welding it
but I hear the same from everyone: horrible ride, scary turns, etc. I was thinking how hard would it be
to just buy and open diff and swap them whenever I'm gonna go drifting? I've never dismantled the rear end
but how long would the job take? Would it really be that much of a PITA to just change it the night before?
Whats your guys' take?
Also, I'm trying to find out who here is from Chicago/Chicagoland Area. I've seen a couple around but I've only
gone cruising with my guy and his ae86. Anybody want to meet up for the sciontist car show?

So you want to swap your rear end whenever you go to the track?
Just save money and get an aftermarket lsd
Should not take too long as long as you have the right tools, an impact gun with some extensions will make the job easier, i recently didmantled the rear end on my buddy's s14 it took him about 40 minutes, i am assuming the corolla's should be about the same.

I hear they go for like $1,000-$1,500. I haven't done the research I'm just goin off what I've read.
Plus, I hear welded diffs are better for beginners because they're easier to initiate with. & 40 min?
that sounds pretty quick man, props. Hopefully they are haha. I saw nissan axles are independent though,
corollas have a straight axle so not sure if that would make a difference.
