You should do a FB page with blog updates, pics, etc. Easier for folks to track when you post new content.

I have my Facebook, but I know you can subscribe to the blog, or to this thread. There may only be one more post before I leave, and that's a maybe, so we shall see how it goes.

Always nice seeing some nice cars out there. Especially since the cost for operating and licensing cars on the road over there is ridiculous.

Yeah I thinks its something like $2000 per year to get the car permit and inspection.

I pay about $450 every 2 years for the mandatory Japanese insurance and inspection. Then maybe $100 a year for road tax.

Isn't it a lot more if your car is modified? Doesn't every change have to be checked?

Alot of things are illegal but legal if registered. Engine swaps where the engine code is different(16v to 20v is ok) have to be documented. Adjustable suspension parts are illegal(some can be registered). 3" minimum ground clearance. Tires cant stick out past the body at the top. Big wings, illegal unless don't stick out past the body. Easy emissions test, and exhaust DB check. Older cars have a higher DB allowance. I know with the Cusco lateral bar, it includes paperwork to register the mod so it can be legal. But much easier to remove and reinstall after inspection.
Most people return the car to mostly-stock every two years, then mod it right back. I install a exhaust silencer, and slap on stock wheels and im good.

My lord I hope you never attempt to teach anyone English. Maybe even hold off on telling anyone over seas that English is your first language.
BLADE, Awesome blog, love reading about your trip. Ive been to japan twice and lost a camera the second time that had all my awesome pictures. Brings back some great memories.
