I started reorganizing my plans after pulling the cover off to check something out on the car a few weeks back. with the car cover on it, and those nasty wheels sticking out, I forgot how nice this thing looks.
Image
with the way my winter went, I opted to not do all the work to the 20v at this time. so I started putting stuff back together yesterday, since it was 85 degrees out. a few things from that long list will be done now or over the summer, but next winter I plan on doing the work now...fingers crossed. so I put all the ITB stuff back on and put a longer fuel feed line on and put the filter in the oem location, so I can install the ITG filter on.
Image
Image
also pulled the zenki corners and sanded the housings, then polished the lenses. a few blemishes on them so ill have to put a light layer of glaze on them, then paint them.
Image
Image
once its on the road again, ill start on refinishing these.

forgot to post this as well. with the upcoming suspension upgrades im planning on, ill need a set of RCA's, so why not make them? Im taking a set of CAD modeling classes, Creo Parametrics, and have a final project to do and used that necessity to drive the final project. This isn't the finished product, as I still have the camber plate to do, but heres where im at with it now. most measurements taken from actual parts, strut housings shortened 40mm, etc. Plan is to use the T3 weld on kit.

been a long time since an update, lifes been hectic to say the least. I have done little things here and there, but nothing major.
BUT I decided it was time for this to go...
Image
so I broke out the supplies, and got cracking at 7am while the kids slept
Image
Image
put some adhesion promoter on before the bumper paint

mocked up the Swangbiz bar

...and finished the install up, finally.

Sweet! Saw your pics a few days ago on fb. Any difference in rigidity with the swangbiz bar? How heavy are they?

I never had the oem mounts, but the bar is solid. thinking about adding extra mounts since it only utilizes 2 top holes, not all 8. I have some plans for the future with it. the best part was the fitment, do messing around tweaking things. bolt up and go.

So the bumper's just held by those two top holes? I'd be so scared of losing it... Let us know about those plans to hold it from other spots :)

the 2 rear holes, then the 2 in the fender wells at the front most corners, then one on each side below where the rear side markers would be. 6 in total

Hey morgan,

How did you polish the lenses? I'd like to try this on the translucent plastics on my car :)

Meguirs plastic polish. in the 2nd pic you can se the bottle. I masked off everything but the lenses as you see, then used some 800 grit paper to smooth it out, then a finer grit, followed by the plastic polish and a clean rag...aka a tshirt I cut up for just this stuff.

Cool, thanks for the info! :D

Does it matter if you wet sand or dry sand? Also, no issues sanding the raised lettering on the lenses?

Any time. The lenses were very clean, minimal sanding done and i left the lettering. I have another jdm set i might do that to.

finally have my new suspension in the works. sent in my strut casings to T3 last week, set to arrive there today for credit. plan to buy the weld on kit with approx. 6.8Kg springs for the front to mate with these 5.1Kg TRD springs I snatched up new. that's a 15% softer rate than the popular 8Kg/6Kg setup. the rear AGX's are nearly new, and I have a new set for the front to drop in as well.
Image

in the mean time, ive just been driving it around and enjoying the nice weather. put some oem jdm signals in the front, and wired them with usdm connectors. heres a few shots from the mountains I frequent in NY.

another night under the cover of darkness...

spent under 2 hours installing the front suspension, putting the hubs back on, and swapping out the rear springs. (15 minutes looking for lost camber plate bolts included. I love when things come together easily.)

then took a drive. very nice so far.
