Hi guys!
I have a lot of plans this year, and will be making quite a few changes to my Corolla this year so I think it'd probably be a good idea to start a new build log on the forum! My car's already quite modded I think, but I'm starting to learn a lot of things from working on everybody else's cars and seeing where mine has shortcomings.
To give a little bit of history, I bought this thing:

and went from this:

to this:

to this:

all the while, my drifting went from this:

to this:

to this:

Anyway yeah. I'll keep updating. So far my car basically has:
Lexus LS400 1UZFE
BC Racing Coilovers
T3 Front Knuckles and Outer Tie Rods (THE BEST!!)
Cressida Front LCA's
and a HYDRO!
I have a small shop in San Bruno, Limitless Motorsports... so I did a little bit of work on the car haha. We're really busy... mostly I'm working on everybody else's cars so I rarely have time/energy for my own! I did some stuff though. Crash bars, a hydro, hibino fenders, other stuff.
On the side, I have a small drift team, Team MINT. Just a bunch of really good friends that play together!

Up next, T3 Zero Ackerman Knuckles!!! I'm helping test these out. When I went Cressida LCA's, the extended width of the front end made my ackerman all screwy I think, even with my Limitless steering spacers and manual rack. I lost all my angle. I hope that the knuckles fix everything. We will see!

I'm excited!!! I just put on some prototype T3 zero ackerman arms the other day for testing.

definitely gave back all the angle i was missing, the changed location of the outer tie rod allowed me to pull the inner wheel in
just THAT much more. That in turn gave me back the full travel of my rack, which in turn allowed the outer wheel to turn in more as well!!! More angle = well, more angle. I have a track event on Sunday, if everything goes great I believe these will go for sale soon!
what's the difference? read up on ackerman here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ackermann_ ... g_geometrystock ackerman makes the inner wheel turn in a little bit more than the outer. great for matching the road during turns,
but not great for drifting! Because of that difference in angle, the outer wheel tends to drag a little bit, slowing you down and decreasing steering feel when you're going sideways. Pretty much every other drift platform offers low ackerman high angle knuckles, why not us??

Nice build!
I like how you did the progression pics

If you don't mind sharing, how did you handle the 1UZ swap?
Usually people modify the firewall and / or transmission tunnel, or use subframe spacers.
Thanks and keep up the good work!

thanks!
the 1uz swap was pretty easy? i built my own triangle adapters and used hockey pucks to mount the stock LS400 mounts to the ae86 subframe. definitely some banging on the firewall was required. this year i'd like to pull the motor out and cut the tranny tunnel and perhaps make a custom tunnel if I have time.
i also needed to run 1.5" spacers on the subframe to bring the whole thing down. i originally took my swaybar out because i wasn't sure if it fit, but i test fitted it a few months ago and it fits in there just fine. in any case, i decided to leave the swaybar out, the car feels like it handles great without the swaybar!
otherwise everything sits solid! thanks man

Thanks guys! I crashed my car at round 1 of ProAm this year.
Anyway, a good reason to redo my whole car. So in the works...
Rear mounted radiator
I boxed it off, running Naca Ducts in the rear window and going to run duct lines to the radiator box.

Fabbing up the feed and return cooling lines.

Fuel Cell

Still have to finish up the plumbing and buy an electric water pump.. thinking of getting a Davies Craig Pump.
Also gotta firewall off the fuel cell, working on that as well. More updates as they come!
