I say "My" but I started building this car for my mom. Now my nephew has claimed it as "his black car"... he's 6 years old. Bought it years ago for myself for $1000 with a blown 5fse and told my mom I was going to stash it at her house. When she came home from work I got a phone call... "what is this car in my drive way?" Towards the end she said "I want that car... what's wrong with it?"

We decided on what motor would replace it...

Old motor...

Motor out...

V6 Motor Mount Bracket for UK peoples...

Traded the stock tranny for a 93 Turbo LSD tranny. Fidanza flywheel installed and bolted up to the v6.

Workin...

Machined an EGR Delete...

My goal with my swaps is to make them not look like swaps...

Front brake kit showed up today from Japan...

Block of wood was included to bend the lip of the dust shield back... LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was expecting to find flaws in the brackets... they were perfect. No ridiculous machining marks, no shitty hardware, nothing to complain about

More to come...

I don't know if I have any other pics of the outside. Haven't been focusing on exterior improvements but I'll look. Working on the engine harness, fuel system, and brakes right now. I'll put pics from last weekend up tonight.

Stock front brakes

Test fit the bracket and caliper

I pulled the passenger side off of the car to clean and I cut off the dust shield while I was there. Shooting to have it finished before the weekend so I can get it back on and get the driver side removed.

I hoped it was an MR2 by the title, so I clicked. The first picture make me happy because I LOVED my '92 non turbo. T-tops and all. Then the second picture made me really happy. I've told myself, "If I buy another MR2, it will be t-tops and have a V6." So yeah. I like your build. What calipers are those? Where did you buy the bracket?

The brackets I picked up from a company in Japan. They don't ship to the US so I had Robert from EP Importers contact them and play middle man for me. It uses Z32 calipers and 96 LS400 rotors. Slight modifications needed to the calipers but nothing outside of my comfort zone.

Woah never seen that brake setup being used on the mr2 before. Ive driven an s13 with z32 brakes and thought they were overkill or too touchy. I'm curious how much did those brackets run you. Im content with my 93+ calipers and hope to upgrade to the supra rotor.
Anyways goodstuff!

Spent about $285 shipped for the brackets and hardware. I hated how the Supra kit you are talking about looked. And for the s13 with z32 calipers feeling too touchy... I blame the person who put the setup together. There is a ton of options to get the braking feel how the driver wants it depending on which brake booster and master cylinder they choose.
