where to buy Ring and Pinion?

Postby ariel_86 » Tue Feb 16, 2016 11:26 am

Hey guys, my pinion gear is tore up and missing teeth. I need a new one. Been thinking about changing the final drive ratio at the same time.

I've tried calling and emailing Weir Performance but I haven't gotten a response yet. Anybody know any other place that I could buy a new R&P from? I don't have to get a different FD ratio, but it would be nice.

What about any place, besides Weir, that offers a Spool for the zenki axles? Feel like ditching my welded diff since its what caused my pinion gear to get trashed.

I've got cash in hand, ready to buy a R&P for my car so I can get it back on the road this season. Any help would be great.

techno toy tuning sells ring and pinions. Not sure where to get a spool other than Weir. Also make sure you have a professional who sets up diffs for a living do it. Dont take it to a 4x4 shop or something along those lines.

What final are you looking for???

If you can tolerate a 3.90, you can get a spool, all mounted in a housing ready to install........

if you need more gear they also sell 4.10 welded diffs....

I've purchased 2 from these people... both diff units, but NOT welded (open). I used one in my AE86 about 10 years ago... and I'm currently running a 3.9 in my AE71

Update!!

After a couple of calls and emails, I was able to get in touch with Spence from Weir Performance. I was able to order the spool, 4.778 r&p, and diff rebuild kit I was looking for. Part should show up tomorrow or Saturday, actually.
