radiators whats good, where to get one?

Postby marley4us » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:19 pm

Ok so I am doing a swap and have a koyo radiator from a SR, its fits but does not look great, since its a bit too big.

I want to find a dual core AE86 specific radiator, something that can handle the 250+ hp and is ment for the AE86 I can only find koyo on ebay... i cant find anyone who sells griffen anymore.... What other brands are good quality that will fit my application?

thanks Ae86 community for any input

Are you swapping in an SR? The S13 SR Koyos are too tall and will not clear the hood unless you modify either the hood or the lower brackets by dropping them down about 1-11/2". If you are doing an SR swap there is no direct drop in and go radiator. If you use the AE86 KOYO you will have to cut the upper tank, flip it, cap off the inlet, drill out a hole on the opposite side, and weld the old inlet on.Or you could just run 2 90* couplers and a crossover pipe (Depending on your mounts this could be a tight fit). This is what I did because I enjoy the fact of having a larger radiator instead of the smaller Civic rad's. I also like having 2 fans. It cools more and you are not having to rely on 1 fan, this way if one takes a dump you still have one in the chamber. Got my KOYO off FRsport

Have you tried contacting Griffin? I tried searching the net a few weeks ago and only got this:
