Front spindle nut torque

Postby QuiteDrifty » Tue May 14, 2013 6:10 am

So when I was pulling out my struts, I noticed the nuts on both front struts were barely hand tight. It required no tool to get em off. Is that how they're supposed to be?

Listen to him^ and follow the procedure in the service manual. If they're not installed correctly you'll scorch the wheel bearings or worse.

they do not have to be tight... you tighten the hub snug then back off little by little till the hub spins freely without any tolerance of wobbling... you can check ur wheel bearings if you pull on the upper and lower of hte rotor to see if theres any shimmy..

Thanks guys for the quick response. I'll check that manual as soon as my internet decides to be a little quicker. I almost forgot about that because I put em together with my hand and threw them back on. Been driving like that for a little bit now. Ooops
