I would be very surprised if the floor of the car is different depending on the transmission. You will need a different crossmember for sure.

Yup, crossmember check, but I was reading in someones conversion thread that the opening in the floor is narrower in the automatic, either way, a template or some dimensions wouldnt hurt to be on the safe side :)

Well it just so happens I have my floor plate out to make something different. So if I remember (and no one else hooks you up) I will trace it and mail it to you.

that would be awesome! I can reimburse you for shipping if you like, or maybe you could scan it and email, that might work...

There is a small panel in the floor where the gear shifter comes through the floor and m/t is different to a/t.
If you take off the console etc you will see the panel.

Unless you're trying to build a concours-winning show car, just notch the tunnel where the shifter comes through. Unlike the automatic car, nothing bolts to the tunnel so you don't need it there. If you're running no interior - the entire cut-out can be covered up if you also get your hands on the rubber gasket that comes from a manual car. It's screwed down to the tunnel with 4 sheet-metal screws. It looks like another shift boot. You'd prolly want it regardless because it keeps exhaust fumes out of the interior.
