a/c question
a/c question
So i have a 16v 4age motor, im can get a 4ac motor with a/c equipped. My question is will i be able to bolt the a/c up or will i need to do some modifications? im also going to switch to manual rack so i think im gonna need a different type of ac bracket? Thanks for any help
Re: a/c question
I think you will have some problems. AFAIK the 4AC compressor runs a single v-belt
while the 4AGE runs a 5-rib polywee belt. Chances are you will need the 4AGE cradle
and the tensioner from a non-p/s car... if you can find one in the US
You will probably save yourself a lot of grief if you can grab the A/C setup from
someone who is stripping weight from a GTS intended for track use.

Re: a/c question
shoots, thats what i figured. Thanks for the help!
Re: a/c question
so can i still use the ac lines and ducts from the 4ac or would it be better if i just find a full set for 4ag?
Re: a/c question
ToyoDIY.com shows slightly different part numbers between A/C components
for the SR5 and GTS of the same year. Seeing that they are essentially the same
chassis and engine block, I would think that most parts would interchange. But
you will need to try it for yourself. You might even find that it is possible to
change the clutch end of the compressor over from single belt to polyvee
Good luck..
