Panhard bar Hiem Joint
Panhard bar Hiem Joint
Does anyone know where to get a hiem joint to fit on the diff side ? The 3/4" Hiem joint works on the body side since the bolt is 12mm but on the diff side the bar is 13/16" and doesn't fit in the 3/4" hiem. Anyone have any info ? Or any pictures of the T3 pan hard bar?

Re: Panhard bar Hiem Joint
At hillco fastener Warehouse I manage to make my own panhard bar. What I had to do was since they only sell Standard size hiem joint I had to change the bolts out to match the eyelit of the hiem joint. Example, bolt that goes through the mount has 14m bolts. So I replaced the bolts with a standard 1/2 fine thread bolts I forgot the length unfortunately. Then I brought hiem joint with a 1/2 eyelit that has a 1/2" fine thread shaft. Buy one with a right hand thread and another with a left hand thread. After that i got two wield bungs, one left hand thread and the other right hand thread. Then I picked up a DOM tube that matches the diameter of the wield bung. Measure and cut the length down to match the old bar. After that have someone weld the bung to the tubes. The reason why I got one left hand and one right hand thread is so that when I spin the tube one way it will force the hiem to expand while spinning the opposite direction will cause it to contract making it fully adjustable. When you place the piece on the car place AN washers in between mounts and the hiem joint to use as spacers and shove the 1/2 bolts through the mounts. Useing the washers will keep the hiem joint centered when in between the mounts. 14m bolts should be almost the same size as the 1/2 so you may need to grab a mallet and tap it in. If you're crafty enough you can get all the parts at hillco and just make your own rather then go to t3. This is basically what T3 does anyways. And just to let everyone know you can also do the same to 4 links. For some of you that are doing the gts rear end conversion on an sr5 and can't find the correct driveshaft you can make your own 4 links and move the whole axle back about 7/8" to compensate for the longer pumpkin. This will allow you to use the sr5 drive shaft.
Re: Panhard bar Hiem Joint
The T3 bar comes with a spacer and adapter to center it and take up the slack with the smaller bolt. Maybe Gabe can sell you just that piece. See here...

The stepped spacers are for the 13/16 side, the thick washers are to center it on the other side
