steering column help

I know you guys aren't here to hear a story so I'm going to get straight to the point. Lol
So I had a cheap steering wheel hub on my corolla and now that this happened I'm pretty sure it wasn't mean for my car. My mistake and I acknowledge that. So the teeth on the hub are stripped badly but I don't know if the conditions on the steering column are still good or not.I can still see the grooves clearly but I'm not sure if they are still the correct size or not. My question is, can I measure them to be sure our will I just have to buy a new hub and this time make sure that it is meant for my car and put it on to see if it feels snug?

Personally I would replace the column as the thought of the steering wheel going around and around without turning the steering sends a chill down my spine

Exactly my thoughts. Since the teeth are already partially stripped, they are prone to strip all the way down even with the correct hub.

Can you tell everyone what the brand was and/or model number so that other people do not make the same mistake?

it doesn't have a brand on it but i had got it off of a toyota paseo from the junk yard. my logic was "Toyota to Toyota".

i also had it on there for about a little under a year and it held up. it would wobble though.

just for future reference for anyone that shall encounter this same misfortune, i bought an nng short hub (srk120h) and slapped it into my car. it fit very snug with no play what so ever. i've have it for one week and still hasn't failed. i will post on this same thread if it ever does seem to fail.
