modding a 4ac??

Has anyone in here messed with their 4ac engine to get more power? If so what did you do (bigger carb, cam, headwork, pistons)? What specific mod gets you the biggest improvement in power while being cost affective. Trying to figure out if I should keep my low miles 4ac and give it some love or do a 4age swap....

A Weber carb will give you the biggest bang for your buck. There is some power to be found in head work, and Schneider Cams is who you'll call to get your cam reground.

Melt it down and make a 4AG out of it. My buddy (raccoon racing) on the old site was way into his 4AC engines, he did FCR's on it irrc. It did pretty well, but I think in the long run I would just save up for a better engine. Flippin' Beams 3SGE swaps are only $1500 right now! That's like same price as a 20v! I'm harassing JSP john like a clingy girlfriend to get his mount kit made.

When I removed my 4age for a rebuild, I stuck a 4ac in it for dd & it gave me the best gas mileage per tank full..
It had a weber on it too. Economy is all i loved about the sohc,it did get me to point A & back
