Trunk Release Cable

I have looked around for a few hours online. I haven't found a new replacement trunk release cable for my GT-S coupe.

I called the dealer and found they are discontinued.

I found two companies that claim to sell them. I am currently waiting on replies from them.

My temporary fix didn't last long enough. The plastic finally snapped in two. The JB weld didn't hold. The wire became stretched from age and tore apart. I know I could put in an electric release, but I would like to have a physical cable. If push comes to shove, I will find and fabricate my own cable.

Anyone else find a way to replace the existing worn out cable?

Update: I used a 12-10 butt connector. I removed the insulation. Inserted the broken wires from both ends. Made sure they were snug and overlapping themselves. Then I crimped them together it is working again. But for how long, I'm not sure. If I come up with a DIY cable I'll post it.

I just went to a junkyard and used a gastank cable and rerouted to my hatch. a lil short but does the job.
