R&P for f20 swap suggestions...

I'm about to buy a new ring and pinion for my corolla. I have a 4.788 that was wonderful with a 16v (especially while autocrossing), but now that my f20 swap is close to complete, I'm wondering what ratio would be best for me. I do autocross as frequently as I can... and there are a few big tracks that I've played at (and planning to spend more time on) and was really bummed when I'd get annihilated on the longer straights with 16v power and the 4.788 rear end. Thinking about going back to the 4.3... didn't know how many people had experienced 4.1's or even higher. So... I thought I'd ask. Suggestions?

The 4.3 should be easy to pick up very cheaply, so I'd start there for that reason alone.

Im also in the middle of a SR20VE swap and thinking on going with a 4.3 R&P. I'm also running 4.78.
However since you are running a 6 speed and have shorter gearing, 4.11 could work.

If your gonna be running f20 suggest go with celica/supra
Rear end you can also get 4:3 ratio along with others, & that
Will last you with that extra power your putting down.
It will hold up lot better. And for ratio 4.7 will be super quick
Shifts 4:3 will be best.

I suggest 4.3. I had 4.777 lsd with f20c and i was rev'ing almost 5000rpm for 110-120kmh

go with 3.9 r&p. with 195/60-r14 tires your gearing will be a little higher than stock s2000, even your cluster will read fairly accurate. also, the s2000 engine produces a much higher amount of torque, placing more stress on your r&p. 3.9 gears will be stronger than 4.3 because of the design. if road racing, long drifting sessions are in your plans, I suggest going with an oil cooler setup or going with a celica supra 7.5
if your future plan is to go with forced induction just swap to celica supra rearend or bigger.

I used 3.9 Kouki rear end with 185/60/14. Best setup. I agree supra Celica rear if you're doing something more strenuous than track days.

I have 4.11's in my rear and i go through the gears quick and top out at 168 GPS'ed @ 8300rpm. I'm in the process of going boost now and will be changing it to a 3.7 so i dont end up spinning in every gear. Plus it will not be at 4K + when cruzin on the highway.
