Maybe the spark is happening at the wrong time ? Check the ignition timing
while cranking... should be around 10 or 12 DBTDC. If it is a long way different
from that, check the cam timing. Belt might have jumped a few teeth.

Check the wires that come out of the distributor. Those wires can move around
quite a bit, and sometimes one will get broken. Usually it happens close to the
dissy so make sure there is not one that has cracked or broken.

Make sure your AFM ground is connected. Its a old yellowish square connector on the frame rail where the cross member bolts are.

Today I checked all the grounds.I did all the troubleshooting procedures by the book and didn't find nothing. The only thing that I can think of is the igniter. I bought one today should be here on Wednesday.

Do you own or can you borrow a timing light to verify the ignition timing? It can be hard to find the right timing just by moving the distributor back and forth.

Any cel? Have you jumped the T and E1 terminals on the diagnostic port/plug to look for saved cel codes? Fyi if it's a bad igniter you should have code no. 3 saved.

A couple months ago I had a cel flash briefly while driving. I checked for saved codes and code no. 3 was present. (No performance issues fyi.) I cleared the code. A short time later my engine stalled while driving, cel light lit up solid on the dash, and engine would no longer start. I checked for saved codes and no. 3 was again present. I swapped igniters with a spare and problem was fixed.

What does the cel on the dash do when you jump terminals T and E1?
