called the toyota dealership to get a price on a gts throttle cable.....of course they can't function without a vin so i give them the vin andbshe only wants the last 7 digits of the vin and the lady says the item's been discontinued..........??? then i tell her it is a dohc engine not the single cam and she has no idea wtf im talking about and she just says well based on the vin you gave it's been discontinued......i didnt feel like trying to explain so i just let it go......first thing.....is it discontinued? second, if not, what is the part number? i've tried googleing it but no success and of course this site's search doesn't work....

You can get it much cheaper than bgrs...

For parts reference I use http://www.villagetoyotaparts.com for the diagrams, http://www.toyodiy.com to cross reference, and then http://www.toyotapartdeal.com to check if the part is discontinued (http://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyo ... 12420.html - I think this is without cruise contol but I'm not certain).

However, http://www.toyotaonlineparts.com is the cheapest for oem parts I've seen thus far... only $69.40 + tax in this case. Regardless, I'd check to make sure the part number in the link above is what you need. Toyotaonlineparts seem to know their ****, just be sure to provide a VIN and ask for confirmation.

The rock auto throttle cable also works with a little bit of modification. last i checked it was 40 shipped. But BGRS is just there for the easy way out, thats why theyre priced a little higher.

When you give the dealer your VIN sometimes it maycome up as a 1st gen 4runner (dont ask me why) just make sure you tell them its not a 4runner and its a corolla. You may have to give them the full VIN for it to pop up as a corolla. Dealt with this many times.

Cabe toyota can get them as well. or lithiatoyotaparts. I went to my local dealer....200% markup, because shipping. LOL
