Throwout bearing problems

Postby racer555 » Wed May 11, 2016 3:04 pm

I have had a noisey throwout bearing since I bought my corolla. Its a 1985 sr5 converted to gts still with an sr5 bellhousing. I got the spec clutch stage 1 kit for a gts since I was under the impression that it should work. The clutch disc and pressure plate are fine but the throwout bearing is different. I haven't been able to get a response from spec about this and was wondering if the throwout bearings are different from a gts and a sr5?

the bearings are the same between gts & sr5, ive heard of many companies supplying the fwd bearing with rwd kits. possibly, the bearing is on backwards if its the correct one?

I emailed a picture of the bearings side by side to spec clutch. Just waiting for a response.
