Recently changed my timing belt after it went bad, and now when I start the car there is a squeaking noise. Trying to pin point the source of the squeaking noise and was curious if anyone might have any ideas.
Thanks,
Mig
Squeaking Noise when Running
Re: Squeaking Noise when Running
Did you replace the timing belt tensioner? The bearing in it can squeak when it goes bad. I'd also take a look at all of the other belts - make sure they are in good condition and tensioned properly. You could also try some belt dressing. It could also be the tensioner pulley for the power steering and A/C compressor belt - take a can of WD40 or other spray lube and shoot it at the pulley shaft when the car is running - if the squeak stops, that is your cause and it will need to be repaired or replaced.

Re: Squeaking Noise when Running
My squeak came from the alternator not being tight enough. Try what Jesus said first tho since that is what you were particularly working on
