Are 15x8 0et. wheels too wide for a 86 Corolla SR5?

I ask because i measured from the face of the brake rotor to the fender and only got 3 1/2". Well if my math is correct with a 0 offset wheel that would only allow for a 7" wide rim and i still have to account for another 1/4" for the lip.

I ask because i've heard from other corollers that a 15x8 0et is the perfect rim size for the ae86....is the sr5 fender different from a gts? Or am I not measuring correctly? Thanks.

Fyi...i want to get the wheel and tire closest to the fender that i can without rubbing....thanks.

My old corolla with 15x8 offset 0 (tires 195/50R15) Tokico Blues with aftermarket springs.
If I remember correctly, I had no issues such as rubbing fenders. GT-S and SR5 uses same fenders, too. Good luck.
