Levin Hood Issue

Postby Gabriel82 » Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:17 pm

Hi everyone,

I recently got my hands on a levin hood. I'm trying to mount it and it looks like my chassis has a hook welded to the body that grooves into the oem trueno hood? Does this need to be chopped off?

Or are levin hood hinges different?

Assuming you have everything it should be a straight swap. have a picture to see what you're talking about?

Kiosk - you were right. It was a two man job lining it up but it fit and stopped making contact with that stopper/hook looking thing.

FWIW those hook things are there to help stop the hood coming thru the windscreen
and cutting your hair when you have a decent frontal impact :)

not all aftermarket hoods have the holes cut. youre supposed to cut a hole in the hood, to match the oem hood, so the hook can go in.
haha cali...i got one of your 86's and you're not getting it back.
