Hello, I pulled out the fuel injectors the other day and want to replace them because i don't think they're working...

I have two questions.

1) Do all new fuel injectors come with o rings or do i have to buy them separately? where do i buy them if so?

2) What injectors should i get?

Might be worth checking if there is a business near you that can clean and flow test
your injectors. Injectors don't usually crap out all at once, but they can get clogged
up with dirt or old fuel if they have sat for a while.

And if you are running a stock blacktop with a factory ECU, you don't want to be
changing to a different capacity injector from the stock (OEM) injectors.

Okay, ill check for flow test and stuff..
Where can i get the gaskets o rings for the fuel injectors? can i get them from like autozone and get the assortment pack?

23250-16140 is the partt number on the fuel injectors that are on the black top..

How do i know if it has a 20V factory ECU?

Might be cheaper to buy some of these and you will get the o-rings with the injectors.
You will need to save the nose insulators from your existing injectors (rubber rings)
that seal the tip of the injector to the inlet manifold. Refurbished items from China
but don't let that put you off, they will work fine.

If your engine is stock with stock ignition and your ECU is a plain aluminum box with
four screws holding the cover on, that will be a factory unit.

What o rings are you talking about? I am so confused.. because you said might be cheaper to buy some of these? Idk what you're referring to. If you're referring to the part number i sent you.. idk where to get them? ebay?

I think that pic you posted is incorrect. There is no need for an o-ring
on the top as they are side feed injectors. And the ring at the bottom
is actually the top seal from a top feed injector !! There should be a nose
insulator there which is a sturdy square section ring. The nose insulator
is probably quite a common thing and may even be the same as the one
used on a stock bluetop injector. You should already have them.

Are you telling me i don't even need to replace anything and i can just throw it back on without the bottom orings? LOL please explain!

Just realised I hadn't replied to this thread, and that I probably gave some
bad information



On side feed injectors the two O-rings marked in red stop the fuel leaking
top and bottom. The insulator marked in green looks to actually be a fat O-ring
and it seals the injector against the manifold to stop vacuum leakage and also
insulates the nozzle against heat transfer. On top feed injectors the insulator
is usually a fat square-section O-ring.

This diagram indicates a second O-ring insulator at the top of the injector, and
this does not actually seem to happen on side feed injectors. On top feed injectors
there is always an O-ring close to the top to seal the injector to the fuel rail. On
the AE111 some injectors have a flat rubber "washer" on the top but others don't
have this ring. It does not actually seal but probably provides a bit of a cushion
for the steel injector retaining clamp to press down on.

You will have got this all figured out by now so just tidying up loose ends

ahh..,. so literally it is just an oring.. lol do you think toyota sells these? been looking for them

Ahh those insulators I can get them at any toyota in the USA?

Also looks like the Top insulator is smaller than the bottom one? bottom one is super fat while top one i had was skinny..

Per some quick cross checking, the MK4 turbo supra injector kits look like they may work. (93.5-98 in the US)

Compare what you have to the photos/order a set to test. (Assuming your current rings and spacers are cracked/hardened...)

Yup, and like Nick replied with the P/N for Beck Arnley. 1J & 2J injectors are the same shape, so they use the same insulators & O-Rings

I'm all for quality parts but I'm fine saving $140 on a set of buna-n/flouro o-rings that are easy to get to and replace if they fail out of the box. Not like using a knock off timing belt or chain for an interference engine...

Swooki, dont use silicone to lube the new o-rings. Motor oil or dish soap are fine.

ordering online is always cheaper, all under $4 each at www.toyotapartsdeal.com. but I agree, the kits are way cheaper. A lot of dealerships are starting to do online sales, its crazy. go into the dealer and order, $9. order online and pick up at the same dealer, $4. IDK if your local one has an online store, just speaking from experience with mine. the above website is generally cheaper, until you add shipping.

Was just going by the first 5-6 online listings from dealerships I saw while cross referencing. Didn't dig any deeper.

Haven't physically bought something at a dealership since... A $12 bolt for the rear suspension i needed in a hurry.

Our locals claim to do online sales, then redirect you into calling the parts department, lol. Having dealt with one way back in the day, the service department was way more interested in selling coke than parts...
