How do you clean these in the right way? Has anyone had success in getting them in a good spot and looking fresh?

If this is your car that is equipped with cloth version, only way I could think is use carpet cleaner that you can purchase at any hardware store.
What I did on my old Levin years ago....

(1) Purchase vinyl version
(2) Clean -> apply interior paint....DONE.
