Update on AE86

Hey everyone, hope all is well. I am wanting to give an update on my overall build for my corolla...its has been quite a journey this past 1.5 years on the entire restoration and rebuild on my car.

So here is where I am...after engine rebuild, there was a leak in the rear main seal so the transmission came off in order to fix that, and replaced the oil strainer, oil baffle plate, etc. At this point, I would venture to say that almost 95% of the entire engine parts, A/C, fuel lines, pulleys, you name it has been replaced with all new parts. This really has been a crazy restoration build for me....anyway, here is a video of it on the dyno and some photos of the engine bay!

Sounds good on the dyno... pulls nice and clean so your tuner is doing his job :) If
you have a copy of the dyno printout that you can post up, I'd be keen to see what
kind of results you are getting at this stage.

Have you been out driving the car yet ?

Cheers... jondee86

havent done any driving yet...still needs to be re-tuned unfortunately. And trying to source A/C parts from Japan has been time consuming and expensive...for example, just replaced the A/C Evaporator coil, $90 in the US, but $400-500 in Japan because the US version wont work. Need that A/C life, lol

Nice! Just replaced my A/C compressor myself. Engine bay looks clean, I want to clean mine up myself but also want to keep cruise control. :|

So I finally had my car dyno'ed....139whp + 106tq on 93 octane gas. You can watch the video, 9k rpm's!

Congratulations dude !!! You got yourself a really nice clean car. Nice dyno curves
and great sound... you are going to have a lot of fun driving that after all the effort
put in over the last couple of years.

Be happy... drive safe... jondee86

PS: Did you find out what the issue was with the catchcan ?

Do you have a build thread somewhere with all the mods you've done to your engine? It will be cool to see your dyno numbers on your build so I know what to expect with mine.

Here's a brief summary of what I'm doing:
- 16v with ITB's (silvertop)
- Ported head by OST
- Toda valve springs
- Cat 244/8mm cams
- CoP conversion
- Oversized block (+0.5mm, using OEM spec pistons)
