Noisy fuel pump?

I put a link to this video in my build thread, but I figured it'd get more attention and maybe an answer over here if I made a topic about it. My car has a few other random issues with coolant and a surging idle at times, but this has me most worried because I'm afraid it'll let me sit.

I bought the car recently and one of the things it needed to run was a fuel pump, I bought a BWD/Borg Warner off of RockAuto last week and installed it, everything seemed cherry. I did switch tanks with the one out of my parts car because my stock one was disgusting inside and wasn't worth cleaning when I had a nicer one sitting right next to it. Everything was fine for a few days but now it makes this terrible whining sound:

My only idea so far is that maybe my return line is plugged up? That's what my one friend suggested checking, but besides that I'm down to basically dropping the tank and using the old fuel pump that came with this tank in the first place. Open to any thoughts and ideas, thanks!
